Unheard Bird. . .

birdNew music for jazz lovers from Charlie Parker is newly released in Unheard Bird: The Unissued Takes? The new two-CD set features previously unreleased alternate takes and false starts of Parker’s recordings for Verve between 1949 and 1952. The 69 tracks feature multiple takes of Parker in a range of studio settings, including quartets, quintets, soloing with Machito and His Afro-Cubans, and fronting big bands. This is music for real jazz lovers and a must for Parker fans. The takes of Parker’s music is usually old and sounds dated, but with this unheard tunes you hear full force the genius of his artistry on the sax. Sounds good to me. It is a collector’s item.
