First Look for Charity is considered one of Chicagoland’s largest single day charitable events. Over the last 24 years, the event has raised over $42 million dollars for local charities. This year, First Look for Charity will benefit 18 local organizations.
The 25th Annual First Look for Charity gala was held on Friday, February 12th from 7-11 PM at McCormick Place. It is Chicagoans first chance or “sneak preview” to see all the cars on display before the Chicago Auto Show is open to the general public. It’s a black tie event, so Guys and Gals get dolled up, usually on one of the coldest nights of the winter – in February! I have been a few times and must admit, it is an awesome event!
First Look guests were among the first to see hundreds of new cars and trucks – some of them on display for the first time anywhere. My favorite vehicle of the night was the Rolls Royce SUV. YES, I said it, Rolls Royce!!! Talk about luxury!!
In addition to the concept cars and trucks, attendees were able to test drive many of the cars from certain manufacturers which are not even available on their showroom floors yet! If you plan on attending, I highly recommend that you sign up to drive! The experience was awesome!
The evening wasn’t all about cars and trucks, as we were treated to world class hors d’oeuvres and beverages, as well as pink and gray slippers, which I may add were a hit amongst the ladies! I mean, we were lining up to receive our “Cadillac slippers” to be comfortable as we walked through the huge space. Great gesture Cadillac!!!
The gala was well attended by socialites, car buffs, local celebrities and the media. Next year, you should be there, so why not plan to attend? You’ll have an amazing time, your donation will go to a worthy charity, and the event is tax deductible.
Lastly, two attendees won their choice of a 2016 Lincoln MKX or a 2016 Jeep Renegade, so I must say that it was a fun evening had by all!
Although you may not have attended the gala, you can still purchase tickets to attend the 2016 Auto Show at McCormick Place.
