Did you always know you wanted to do music as a child or did you dream of doing something else at first?

For most of my childhood, I wanted to be a pediatrician because I love children so much. I started singing at 7 years old so it was something that I always loved to do. Had no idea I’d make a career out of it. In fact, I didn’t really see it as a career possibility until I was around 15 or so.

Who was the first singer you remember taking note of that ultimately inspired you?

Whitney hands down. She just embodied it all to me. She made me feel like I could be a star.

Having worked with such a long list of incredible artists, what would you say is one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned about the music business?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to take in every experience and become a sponge. Great artists are great for reasons. If you have aligned with being around them, it’s for a reason so get what you came for. Soak it all in with every single opportunity that you are blessed to get.

What’s the one thing you want people to take away from your music?

I want people that connect to my music to come into my world and feel free to be vulnerable because I am. I want people to understand me and where I’m coming from. Use my music to laugh, cry, dance and start conversations. And above all, I want people to know they’re not alone.
