The Jackie Wilson Story. . .

Jackie Taylor’s masterpiece The Jackie Wilson Story returns to the Black Ensemble Theater stage. This is a story of one of the all-time great entertainers known as “Mr. Excitement.” He was a master showman with a four octave ranged voice. He died far too young at 50, he collapsed on stage while performing from a massive heart attack. He lived his days out in a nursing home where he was in a coma for nine years. His style was copied by Mr. Elvis Presley and a multitude of others. The hit play opened in 2000 and went on a national tour to include one of Wilson’s favorite venues, The Apollo Theater, in New York. If you haven’t seen it, don’t miss it. If you saw it, it’s time to see it again. It runs until September 4.

Anything that reminds or introduces new people to the astonishing talent of Jackie is most welcome as he never received his true credit as the greatest singer / mover / looker / personality / charisma that ever entertained onstage. There was, isn’t and never will be anyone to remotely come close to Mr. Excitement! Thank you Jackie for continued endless enjoyment x
