What happened in 2025 as 2026 cometh.
2025 has been a year of reckoning, acceleration, and uneasiness. The politics hardened, and power looks different under the present administration than ever before. The new rule is no rule. The new government is under a single rule rather than a congressional vote. Tear down the historic East Wing of the government building because the President wants to, no act of Congress needed. Change the name of the Kennedy Center because you want to; no vote from Congress required. A new power emerges. Where did Congress go?
On the political front, we see confusion and retirements. A new generation is ushering in. The March midterm elections are critical to American democracy, as a new vote approaches. Will it bring a new politic? People are moving in fear and skepticism as we do the simple things of life. Buy groceries. Attend school. Ride public transportation. Airport travel with multiple delays.
What are the real options?
Sometimes none.

We have watched the government become a tool of the media’s business. Who will control the media’s messages and stories, for example? It seems that a precious few will control the news.
Multiculturalism, diversity, inclusion, and equity seem to vanish.
Business accommodations and school attendance, under a minority concept, are eliminated unless schools reach a deal with the government for funding.
Museums and historical preservation are drowned in racism. History is revisited not as nostalgia, remembrance, and truth but as a warning and instruction about the American way.

America’s media has changed and is a work in progress. It is a revolution in ownership and coverage. The administration has silenced and discouraged the media, leaving coverage to very short stories. You wonder whether journalism is still about the truth as the titans contemplate ownership and control and as the government plays let’s make a deal with scrutiny of coverage.
Who do we trust?
2026 Cometh
As we approach 2026, we will celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Will we remember the historical significance and differences, or will we have festivals and wave flags at gigantic parties with TV specials?
AI is among us and moving faster than we realize. Jobs will be lost, and jobs will change. We are producing robots that push buttons rather than think. You will see AI in every aspect of culture, from customer service to delivery. AI is the new thinker, and it will affect every aspect of culture, from the creative singer to the new voice and graphic, giving us new music, new photography, new movies, and new books. We are looking at a new America, and we celebrate 250 years in the making. We change. We change from one thing to another.
Stay woke and vote. It’s a new day in a new year.
