It is beyond insulting for President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice to investigate Mayor Brandon Johnson for his hiring practices. This is as racist as it gets, and we must call racism what it is when it appears—Trump controls and maneuvers political territory with investigations and threats as the “Grand Dragon” in the White House. Everything is personal.
The keyword in hiring is not race; it is QUALIFICATIONS. Mayor Johnson has hired qualified individuals for his cabinet, and they are Black. Every politician has the right to hire their cabinet, their team.
Trump has not considered qualifications. His main hiring factor is loyalty. Let’s examine some of Trump’s hires and the positions they hold: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_cabinet_of_Donald_Trump
Senator Dick Durbin questioned Robert Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and he faltered. He was asked about the grants he was not funding, and Durbin had to remind him what they were.
In a Senate hearing, Kristi Noem of Homeland Security could not define “habeas corpus.” She failed to understand the principle’s meaning. She thought it was an extraordinary power of the President.
The least qualified member of Trump’s cabinet is Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense. He is a former TV host on Fox News and an Army veteran, but he lacks experience and knowledge of the armed forces. Trump immediately fired top Black military officials who had the expertise and experience to run the Defense Department because they were Black.

Sean Duffy is another former TV personality from CNN and Fox News who was appointed Secretary of Transportation. He also has little to no experience, especially as we witness chaos, and crashes in air travel.
Linda McMahon is a marketer for World Wrestling Entertainment and now heads the Department of Education, which Trump wants to abolish. She has no qualifications for education.
Trump’s cabinet consists of White members except one Black member, Scott Turner, who serves as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Turner has had no interaction with the press regarding his goals and objectives for housing. He is as quiet as a church mouse.
So, essentially, the difference between Mayor Johnson’s hires and Trump’s cabinet is race and the qualifications for the positions. Trump is harassing Black politicians while practicing racist behavior. This must be called out for what it is. Black America has a history of employment racism.
Let’s call it what it is. Racism lives in the White House.
