This program, designed to equip young individuals with essential skills and mentorship, has empowered them to navigate their career paths with confidence. She says to witness the transformative impact of this initiative on the lives of these young participants has been immensely rewarding and further solidified her commitment to uplifting the next generation.

Kristina Williams

N’DIGO: In your own words, who is Kristina Williams?

Kristina Williams: I am a trendsetter who loves a great adventure of exploring new things, fantastic food (foodie), electrifying music, a lover of the arts, determined and passionate, a leader, and a goal-oriented seeker. I choose to stand out from the crowd as a true leader.

What are three words your closest friends would use to describe you?

Business-oriented, outgoing, and determined.

Did you always know you’d work in community activism?

I knew at an early age that I wanted to make a difference by being a business owner. I saw a need to help the next generation with resources to help position themselves to take on this cruel world. So, I purposely attended college to learn how to run a business.

How did your path lead you to your current career field?

I believe it was written in the stars. You know, destined for me. As the oldest granddaughter on my mother’s side of the family, I always had more responsibility than everyone else, and I still do. Every year, I accomplish one of my dreams or learn something new. To be a more significant leader, one must lead by example.

What are some of your accomplishments that you are most proud of?

I am most proud to be alive in this time and to be able to witness the other side of my storm. Importantly, I never stopped believing in myself and kept moving forward. One favorite song to keep me motivated is “I Keep” by Jill Scott. She talks about how she keeps moving forward despite the obstacles she has faced from loved ones or outside people due to their fears or insecurities.

Can you tell us about the career development apprenticeship program you put together?

This program was created due to limited resources within my community. I want to give back to my community by creating jobs and exposing the younger generation to new opportunities of being a business owner versus just working in a corporate position. I have seen many students seeking jobs to buy clothes, food, or just their everyday essentials. However, they needed to be shown how to properly speak, dress, or design their resume for a position.

Where do you draw inspiration in all that you do?

I constantly remind myself to accomplish a more extensive mission with my god and ancestors. I choose to be positive amongst the chaos. It’s one of my superpowers.

How do you juggle everything you do between yourself, your children, and your career?

Practice. Lol. No, Truly, delegation is essential. One must have a fantastic support system to manage all these things, and I am thankful for mine. I would not be able to fully accomplish my goals if it wasn’t for my family. Creating a flow of self-care, family time, and managing business tasks are essential. It took me a while to truly find my balance, and I am so glad I did. Life keeps getting easier.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?

I played the violin in elementary and middle school and can play most sports. I am usually the top pick.

Can you name a book that changed or impacted your life and why?

Atomic Habits- Chapter Nine by James Clear. It talks about how we as individuals learn our first set of habits from our family members, whether good or bad. Based on our family environment, it is our gateway to be accepted by others.

Best advice to young people?

Follow your dreams and never stop learning. Life has so much more to offer than the environment you grew up in. Also, learn multiple languages; don’t limit yourself.

Favorite quote or affirmation?

When someone asks me how I am doing, instead of just saying I am okay or good. I replace those words with I am successful or I am remarkable. I speak life over myself.

What’s next for Kristina Williams?

I can’t share too much because I am working on my manifestation. However, I plan to participate in a bigger beauty pageant stage, traveling with my family and friends to truly experience different cultures, languages, and all this world offers. Lastly, most importantly, building an eight figure business that impacts other people’s lives.
