N’DIGO: In your own words, who is Jzquelyn Leejzoi?

Jzquelyn Leejzoi: Jzquelyn Leejzoi is a multi-talented woman who has overcome several setbacks and is finally walking into her authentic self. She is the most caring and loving individual, exceptionally headstrong and self-motivated. There is nothing in this world that she can’t accomplish once she puts her mind to it.

What did you imagine the adult you would do professionally as a child?

I aspired to be a dermatologist. But unfortunately, I dealt with severe eczema, where I often wore long sleeves and pants in the summer. This experience stole my confidence and hindered my modeling career at a very young age.

One of your endeavors is dealing with cryptocurrency. Can you tell us a little about how you got started in it and maybe a couple of basic things to know for those who are interested in exploring?

I got introduced to Forex a few years ago, and the education platform I was a part of also offered cryptocurrency education. As a result, I began to understand how money works and why cryptocurrency will continue to evolve and be prevalent in the future. A few basic things to know is to get an encrypted email address at protonmail.com. If your email is hacked, they won’t be able to see the messages and retrieve passwords or personal information. Also, you do not own your crypto unless you have the private keys to your crypto wallet. If you buy crypto or set up a wallet and do not give you a 12-word keyphrase, you do not want to purchase or hold crypto there.

How do you handle potential obstacles or resistance you may receive as a black woman in your various industries?

I handle them with grace and dignity. I expect our struggle to be a little more challenging than others, but I plow through it. It’s rewarding when you impress those who expect so little from you.

Your latest project is your new book, Releasing You: Overcoming Insecurities and Unleashing The Beast; please tell us about it and the inspiration behind it.

Having battled and triumphed over a nervous condition that distorted my entire childhood and put a dent in my self-esteem and self-perception, I always knew I wanted to write a book that could help others that have fought and are fighting the same battle. My book aims to teach people how to overcome barriers and maximize life opportunities. Also, this book affords you the privilege of asking relevant questions about faith and life, and it offers solutions to life’s biggest questions. The content of this book is for people who understand that “barrier” is not just a word but an existential reality. Therefore, this piece is not just another how-to book on the block but a must-have for everyone because it will help you overlook past hurts, maximize your present, and build a great future that you can be proud of.

Can you talk about being a mom and tell us one of the biggest unexpected joys or surprises you’ve discovered in Motherhood?

I absolutely LOVE being a mom. I never imagined having children; it has been one of the most rewarding experiences ever. I didn’t plan on being a single mom, and it gets pretty hard when you hold all of the responsibility. With that said, I wouldn’t change a thing. One of the biggest joys and surprises is how much she desires to be like me. It pushes me always to do my best, evaluate how I react in certain situations, and always keep her best interests at heart.

How do you juggle all your business endeavors and still maintain your personal and overall life as a multi-hyphenate business owner?

Whew! I have no idea. I get that question a lot, and people think I never sleep. I’ve always believed in a good work-life balance, so I try to plan my week in advance. I know what my goals are for the week, so I make time for the important things first. Then I schedule my play time around that. I often find myself working overtime after my little one is in bed. All the hard work will be worth it in the end.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?

People are always surprised to find out that I am extremely shy and can fly an airplane!

Can you name a book that changed or really impacted your life and give a sentence about why?

The Magic of Thinking Big‘ by David J. Schwartz. Oftentimes we don’t dream big enough. We can only achieve what we manifest. Once you realize that you can have all that your heart desires, you dream bigger, and your work ethic changes accordingly.

Best advice to aspiring business owners?

Leverage your resources. There is usually someone that has already done what you’re aiming to do. Please reach out to them for advice. Also, seek healthy mentorship. Mindset is important when you are trying to work toward specific goals. A mentor can help you develop your business acumen and challenge your mindset.
