A graduate of Proviso West High School, Northwestern University, and the John Marshall Law School, Welch’s journey into politics was rooted in his dedication to education, starting with his service on the local school board and eventually becoming its board president. His efforts have not only elevated Proviso Math and Science Academy but have also led to significant policy changes, such as advocating for an elected school board in Chicago. With a focus on improving student engagement and equitable budget allocations, Welch’s insights are poised to inspire educators and school board members alike.
