Corey Barksdale is an anointed and gifted singer, songwriter, artist and philanthropist, whose faith in God and transparency keeps him grounded. His tremendous vocal talent and versatile songwriting abilities have granted him opportunities to share his music on several platforms.
A native of Chicago, IL, singing and songwriting quickly became a constant early on in Corey’s life, as he received many national and international opportunities to share his vocal talent. Corey was favored to perform at the Apollo Theatre (New York), in Jerusalem, Israel, Netherlands, Holland, Amsterdam and Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago for CPS Special Olympics.
Today as a Gospel artist, Corey is quickly being recognized for his incredible vocals, commanding stage presence and distinctive songwriting skills.
In 2010, while working on new music, Corey was invited by his good friend and college buddy BET Music Matters artist and Dove award nominee, Jonathan McReynolds, to co-write and record on the duet track “Why” from his Life Music Project.
From National Television to major print media, Corey Barksdale has made appearances on The Steve Harvey TV Talk Show, Rejoice in the Word on The Word Network, TBN, TLN, TCT Network anda mentionin Sister 2 Sister Magazine.
On the international music scene, Corey was requested in 2011 to join the Ö-vik Big Band in Sweden as a featured vocalist. When Corey isn’t creating or singing, he serves as a praise and worship leader under the ministry of Dr. Bill Winston at Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, IL
