When a calling is placed upon your life, it is your job to carry out that duty to the absolute best of your ability.
Richard Gallion began his career as a model which led him to the world of theater and acting. His calling, however, was slowly brewing within. After studying his craft under the guise of playwright/director John Ruffin, it made sense that there was a deeper artistic manifesto just waiting for Gallion to dive in. In turn was the birth of his first original stage play, Living Without Love.
Making its debut this past summer in June, Gallion is bringing the production to the stage once again on November 10th and 11th.
“A lot of the audience asked that I bring it back, ” he shared. “They said they’d come back to see it and also some people missed it and heard about it that definitely want to come out and enjoy it this time.”
The stage play is a dramatic journey that touches on issues of trust, deceit and forgiveness. Designed with a spiritual thread, Living Without Love offers various sides to the story. One being the state of mind one can succumb to with the absence of forgiveness and ignoring pain that dwells from their past and another exploring the learning process of dealing and letting go. Through bits of comedy, the characters in Gallion’s play struggle with not experiencing love in one way or another. Their family structures battle with drugs, death, and riding the line between street life and spirituality.
The talented band, Harmonious Dynasty will provide the musical silhouette to the stage play. “Those young guys are good man. What caught my attention about them is that they’re willing to rehearse and they work hard,” Gallion compliments.
With hopes of touring Living Without Love, Gallion hinted that there is also another component to the reason he wanted to show the production again. “There was an event that took place in my life that made me want to bring it back which I want to disclose after the show.”
Richard Gallion’s craft in the arts is taking on a journey of its own. Already working on second script, he’ll be touring with his mentor John Ruffin for the successful production, Ideal Husband, which stars Gallion. Aside from acting, writing, directing and producing, Gallion and his business partner, Joseph recently incorporated their production company, R & J Productions.
“That’s really been a blessing. With the grace of God, things will get even better.”
