Pastor John Hannah

Chicago Pastor John Hannah received the Gospel Announcer of the Year Award at the Radio Station & Gospel Announcer Awards & Showcase on last month in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hannah is Pastor of New Life Covenant Church in Oakwood, one of Chicago’s fastest growing mega-churches. In addition, he hosts The John Hannah Morning Show on Inspiration 1390-AM, from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. Monday thru Friday.

Pastor Hannah proclaims that this is the “Year of Never Before” and already blessings abound for him.

The next day after Pastor Hannah’s win rising Chicago gospel music superstar VaShawn Mitchell was the big award winner during the 27th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards in Nashville.

VaShawn Mitchell was a standout Stellar Award winner related to his album Triumphant.

Taped at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House, Mitchell took home six awards, including Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary Male of the Year, Praise and Worship CD of the Year for his 2011 album Triumphant, Music Video of the Year (short format) and Urban/Inspirational Single of the Year for Nobody Greater. Gospel Music veteran Kirk Franklin was close behind VaShawn, winning four awards.

A two-hour special on the 2011 Stellar Gospel Music Awards, produced by Chicago-based Central City Production’s Don Jackson, is airing in nationwide syndication through February 26, 2012.
