A Yale-educated attorney, Van has written two New York Times Best Sellers: The Green Collar Economy, the definitive book on green jobs, and Rebuild the Dream, a roadmap for progressives in 2012 and beyond. After starting and running three successful non-profits, Van served as the Green Jobs Advisor to President Obama. He is currently the President and Co-Founder of Rebuild the Dream, a movement for inventive and community-based solutions that can fix our economy from the ground up.

Van is also a regular contributor on CNN. He covered the DNC, all four debates and election day. Here’s a glimpse of him sticking up for our side on election night!

In September Van and his team  partnered with the legendary artist, Prince on behalf of his “Welcome 2 Chicago Tour”,  to create the Rebuild the Dream Village, where 26 local organizations came together to offer solutions to 60,000 concert-goers in the areas of community, economy, food and planet. This is part of the organization’s vision to use art and creativity to promote social and economic change.

We hope you can join us for this fundraiser to benefit Rebuild the Dream on December 4 from 5:30 – 8:00pm, where we will enjoy delicious food, drinks, and lively conversation with Van. We’re asking for a minimum contribution of $250 per person to support this incredible organization. Please click here to RSVP. Donations are 100% tax deductible.
